Olympic Stadium hosted the Montreal Expos for 28 seasons after the 1976 Summer Olympics. Its iconic inclined tower — the world's tallest inclined structure — and retractable roof (which rarely worked properly) made it one of baseball's most visually distinctive venues. The Expos departed after 2004, and baseball has not returned to Montreal.

Did You Know?

  • The retractable roof was finally installed in 1987, 11 years after the stadium opened for the Olympics — and it malfunctioned so frequently it was eventually left permanently closed.

  • The 1994 Expos (74-40 at the time of the players' strike) were arguably the best team never to play in the postseason.

  • Vladimir Guerrero Sr., Gary Carter, Tim Raines, and Pedro Martinez all wore Expos uniforms at this stadium.
