Oakland Coliseum hosted the Athletics for 57 seasons, closing on September 26, 2024, as the A's departed for Sacramento while a new ballpark is built in Las Vegas. It was baseball's last multipurpose stadium, beloved for its enormous foul territory and the view of the Oakland hills before Mt. Davis was added in 1996.

Did You Know?

  • The Oakland A's won three consecutive World Series titles here (1972–1974), a dynasty built on Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson, and Joe Rudi.

  • The Moneyball era A's (2000–2006) competed for the playoffs on a fraction of other teams' payrolls, making the Coliseum a symbol of underdog baseball.

  • Mt. Davis — the upper deck added for the NFL Raiders in 1996 — blocked the hills view and was widely despised by baseball fans.
