Metropolitan Stadium, opened in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington, was home to the Twins from 1961 through 1981. An outdoor ballpark with genuine Minnesota winters, it hosted the 1965 World Series. After demolition, the Mall of America was built on its site — a plaque marks home plate inside the shopping center.
