The Kingdome

AL WestSeattle, WAAmerican LeagueClosed 1999

The Kingdome was Seattle's first professional sports venue and home to the Mariners for 23 seasons. Despite being one of the loudest stadiums in baseball and the site of Ken Griffey Jr.'s early career, it was widely criticized aesthetically. It was spectacularly imploded on March 26, 2000 — T-Mobile Park stands nearby.
